Points Rummy
Points Rummy is a fast-paced variant of 13-card Rummy where players aim to get a score of zero points by forming valid sets and sequences with their cards, while opponents add points to their hands for unmelded cards. The goal is to be the first to make a valid declaration, resulting in a score of 0. Points are calculated based on the cards remaining in a player's hand: face cards (J, Q, K) are 10 points each, Aces are 1 point each, and numbered cards are worth their face value. The winner collects the points from all other players, and the game continues until a pre-decided point target is reached or a set number of rounds are played. Card Point Values Face Cards (J, Q, K): 10 points each. Ace: 1 point. Number Cards (2-10): Face value (e.g., a 7 is worth 7 points). Jokers: 0 points. How to Play 1. Deal: Each player is dealt 13 cards. 2. Start: The first card from the deck is placed face-up in the open deck to signal the start of the game. 3. Gameplay: Players take turns drawing a card from either the closed deck or the discard pile and discarding a card to end their turn. 4. Declaration: When a player has all their cards in valid sets and sequences and discards their last card, they make a valid declaration. 5. Scoring: The declaring player receives 0 points for that round. The points from the remaining unmelded cards in each opponent's hand are tallied and added to the winner's score. 6. Winning: The game continues until a player reaches a pre-agreed point limit or a specific number of rounds are played. Key Features Fast-Paced: The game is known for its speed and quick rounds. Pool Rummy is a variant of 13 card indian rummy where players pay a fixed entry fee which forms the prize pool. Winner of every deal gets 0 points and the rest accumulated points are added to their score. A player is eliminated once their score reaches the maximum limit of points on the table eg: 101 Points Pool or 201 Points Pool. Winnings =(Entry Fee) X (Number of Players) - Rummy fees. How is Pool Rummy Played on Rummy? Pool Rummy on IndianRummyGames.com is played between 2 to 6 players with 2 packs of cards (including one printed joker per pack). Each player joins a Pool Rummy table by paying a fixed entry fee which is used to create the Prize Pool.A toss will decide which player makes the first move.Each player is dealt a set of 13 cards randomly.First card from the pack is placed in the open deck indicating that the game has started.Remaining cards are placed face-down in the closed deck slot.A joker card is randomly selected at the beginning of each game.One or more jokers can be used to complete sets and/or sequences.Printed Joker: In case a printed joker is selected as joker for a game, then players can also use Ace card of any suit as a joker in their sets and / or sequences.Auto Drop: A player is allowed to drop anytime during a Pool Rummy match by clicking on 'Auto Drop' button. For example: In 101 points pool, a player will be eliminated once his score reaches 101 points.Prize Split: In pool Rummy, players can use the 'Split' option if they choose to split the prize money. The split option will work as a function of number of drops remaining for a player. Number of drops remaining is defined as the number of times a player can drop a game and still remain in the game. Split option works only with mutual understanding among the players with whom the prize money will be split. In case if any player denies for the split then the option won’t work.Objective: Arrange all 13 cards in-hand in sequences and/or sets.Each player takes turns to pick/discard a card from closed/open deck to complete sets and/or sequences.You can move a card to the finish slot to declare your sets and sequences.To declare the player must show the cards in hand by grouping them in sets/sequences and clicking on 'Declare' button.Compulsory: To finish the game, you must declare at least two sequences, one of which must be a pure sequence.Caution: With two decks, you cannot use the same card twice in a set for instance 7 ♠ 7 ♠ 7 ♥ is not a validset. Major Difference - 101 Pool Rummy vs 201 Pool Rummy Scores - In 101 pool rummy, player gets eliminated once he or she reaches maximum score points of 101. In 201 pool rummy, player gets eliminated once he or she reaches maximum score points of 201. Auto Drop Points - In 101 pool rummy first drop is 20 points and middle drop is 40 points. In 201 pool rummy first drop is 25 and middle drop is 50. How is the Scoring Done in Pool Rummy? Deciding the winner : The first player to finish after meeting the game objective wins. In a six player table, the game will continue without the player who finished without meeting the objective. This player gets 80 points. The winner gets 0 points. The loser gets points based on the cards in their hand.Each card carries a certain number of points. J - 10 points Q - 10 points K - 10 points A - 10 points All other numbered cards carry the same points as their face value for ex. 7 carries 7 points and 3 carries 3 points. The jokers carry zero points. The loser of the game gets points as follows: If a player finishes the game without meeting the game objective, the player loses and gets 80 points. If a player misses three consecutive turns, the player loses and gets the middle drop score, which is 40 points in 101 Pool and 50 points in 201 Pool. Auto Drop: A player is allowed to drop anytime during a Pool Rummy match by clicking on 'Auto Drop' button. This player will then be dropped from subsequent deals and given the first drop score (i.e. 20 points in 101 pool or 25 points in 201 pool). What are The Maximum Points a Player Can Get? In this format of Indian Rummy, a player is eliminated from the table once his/her score reaches the maximum limit of points on a particular table. At the end of a Pool Rummy game, the winner wins cash as follows: Winnings =(Entry Fee) X (Number of Players) - Rummy fees. E.g.: Players pay a fixed entry fee which is used to form the prize pool. Winner of every deal gets 0 points and the rest accumulate points which are added to their score. Lets say 5 players join a Pool Rummy game with r 50 entry fee. The prize pool for this game will be r 250. The winner will win r 50 x 5 = r 250. This will be credited to the winner's Rummy account after deduction of the Rummy Fees. How does the Drop Option Work? Each player gets an option to drop the game throughout the game duration. The drop scroes vary for different pool rummy formats. For example : Rummy Format First Drop Middle Drop Pool 101 20 40 Pool 201 25 50 In Pool Rummy, players can make use of the newly launched 'Auto Drop' option.
